Review Master Trial Balance

Review Master Trial Balance appears when you click the name link of a trial balance in Review Master Trial Balances. Review Master Trial Balance enables you to view the detail of a single master trial balance. The name of the master trial balance you're viewing is incorporated in the title of the page.

At the top of the page, general information about the master trial balance is displayed. This information includes the time stamp recorded at the time the master trial balance you're viewing was created and the account map and reporting unit roll up used. The names of the account map and reporting unit roll up are links. Click the links to view them in General Ledger Manager. If you edit a map or a reporting unit roll up, you must create a new master trial balance to see the effect of the changes.

The top of this page also indicates whether the master trial balance has been consumed, or used to update ONESOURCE Income Tax. Click the Update Income Tax link to open the location in ONESOURCE Income Tax in which you can choose a master trial balance and update your income tax data.

The grid in this page presents data in tiered form. Click the expand icons next to the items in the grid to view lower levels of detail. You can also choose the level of detail to display by clicking the number buttons at the upper left corner of the grid.

Choosing a view and filtering data

Two views are available in Review Master Trial Balance. You can view trial balance data by entity or by master account. Select the view you want to display in the View By field. If you created the master trial balance you're viewing without incorporating a reporting unit roll up, the reporting unit codes from the source trial balances are displayed in the Entity column in the entity view.

You can filter the data displayed in this page to display only data for the entities or reporting units you select. To filter data, click Apply Filter. In the pop-up that appears, choose Reporting Unit or Entity in the Filter by field. Then, select the items whose data you want to display and click Apply.

You can also hide any account balances in this page by selecting Hide Zero Balances.

Exporting master trial balance data

To export the master trial balance you're viewing to an Excel spreadsheet in .csv format, click the Export to Excel button at the top of the grid. This format expresses master trial balance data by entity and can be used to import data into other ONESOURCE applications. You can also click Export Support File to export a file for use in auditing which includes a breakdown of adjustments that may have been applied to the source trial balances.

Regardless of the export format you choose, you'll be prompted to save the file or open it.

An exported master trial balance is not affected by your view or filter selections in Review Master Trial Balance. Export files include all data in the master trial balance.
