How to Export a Trial Balance

When you export a trial balance file, you get only trial balance data, which is the data that is displayed to you when you view the file in Review Trial Balances. You do not get all of the data that was in the original trial balance file that was added to the Import Queue unless the trial balance data was the only data in the file. Only a download of a trial balance file ensures that you get all of the data that was in the original trial balance file.

You can export a trial balance file to a .csv Excel file in either of two ways as shown below.

Exporting from the List View

To export a trial balance file from the Review Trial Balances List View,

1. Click the check box next to the trial balance that you want to export to select it.
2. Click Export to Excel in the grid menu.
3. At the resulting prompt, click Open to open the export in a .csv Excel file, or click Save to save the export in a .csv Excel file.

Exporting from the Detail View of the File Itself

To export a trial balance file whose details you are currently viewing,

1. Click Export to Excel in the grid menu.
2. At the resulting prompt, click Open to open the export in a .csv Excel file, or click Save to save the export in a .csv Excel file.
